Dr Hadjipateras-Giannoulis has had a special interest in neurodevelopmental disorders for over 25 years and has acquired extensive knowledge, skills and experience in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (including Asperger syndrome) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
She provides youngsters and adults with tailor-made interventions to meet the individual’s specific needs (e.g. improving self confidence in social situations; relationship and sexuality training; anxiety management; managing repetitive behaviours etc.).
She consults to the partners and families of those affected with ASD and/or ADHD to enable them to come to a better understanding of the condition and provide suitable support.
Dr Hadjipateras-Giannoulis also consults to schools, colleges and universities to train and advise staff on issues related to ASD and ADHD and on how best to support someone with special needs.
Dr Hadjipateras-Giannoulis undertakes consultations to employers of people with ASD and/or ADHD to ensure a smooth transition into the workforce and success within the workplace.
Along with her colleague Michael Mangos, she has developed the website “autisminadults.org.gr” in order to create a community of adults on the autism spectrum in Greece and provide psychosocial services geared to their needs.
